Melanie Greensmith

founder of Wheels and Dollbaby, started off selling hard-to-find imports from the U.S and U.K, but also began designing her own collections. Her own designs soon attracted more attention than the imports, and the Wheels and Dollbaby label quickly took off.

One of the first celebrity customers to come in was Michael Jackson, wanting a customized leather jacket for his ‘Bad’ Tour. The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, the Divinyls, Stray Catz and INXS all followed, buying clothes for their tours. It wasn't long before the label became synonymous with all things rock. That was also the beginning of Melanie and Mark's collaboration as Australia's well-known designer/musician duo. While Mark is off writing music for and playing with his friends, the Black Crowes, the Pretenders and Blondie, Melanie is dressing them.

Although the label constantly evolves, there is always a strong rock 'n' roll feel with Melanie's sense of fun coming through in her designs.
