ASOS was once seen as a supplier of celebrity inspired knock offs but that label is a thing of the past as the serious contender on the list of largest fashion e-tailers in UK picked up the sought after Large E-tailer of Year Award during the esteemed Drapers Fashion Awards.
Since starting off the site has gone from celebrity copies to more desirable fashion boasting a vast array of well known brands. It is no surprise that over 18 million customers visit the site each month looking for that something special.
Alongside the highly renowned labels there are also eight original collections available on the website including a Fair trade collection known as ASOS Africa as well as ASOS Black for party wear and ASOS White for deluxe day wear.
During the awards judges said that calling ASOS a market leader would be an understatement as it continuously looks for ways to move the business forward at the same time as hitting the fashion trend nail on the head time and time again.
They continued on to say the company has achieved well over its intended targets and despite the lack of growth in the economy ASOS has grown at rate similar to the way companies did before the current recession.
Other awards given out on the night were the Fashion and Retail Personnel Smaller E-tailer of the Year was picked up by The Cambridge Satchel Company which is a celebrity favourite and Retailer of the Year – Consumer Award which went to River Island.
Barbour scooped themselves the Menswear Brand of the Year Award seeing off competition from Ben Sherman and Hugo Boss with Primark being awarded the Larder Multiple Retailer of the Year which is no surprise considering the high street retailer has seen incredible profits as well as success through European expansion leaving the likes of Debenhams, Harrods, House of Fraser, John Lewis, Oasis and Topman bewildered.
