Coco Bay, the online beachwear boutique run by three sisters, has fought off fierce competition to the award for “Best Online Swimwear” at the “Sheerluxe 2013 Shopping Awards”. These awards, held annually, let the public have their say over who is their favourite online retailers and Coco Bay beat of some hefty players including Figleaves, Melissa Odabash and ASOS to capture the award.
This result is something the girls probably didn’t dare dream of 10 years ago when they were running the fledgling Coco Bay out of their homes and running back and forwards to the post office to fulfil their then sporadic orders. Other winners at the awards were Zara for High Street Fashion, Net a Porter for High End Fashion and Marks and Spencer for Lingerie.
Coco Bay’s aim has always been about taking the hard work and intimidation out of beachwear shopping. At the beginning, this involved changing customer’s shopping habits as this was the early days of e-tailing and there was still particular resistance to buying products like lingerie and swimwear on-line. It has been a challenging and exciting journey but 10 years on it is safe to say that Coco Bay has certainly won over the swimwear buyer.
For Spring/Summer 2014, Coco Bay’s collections are looking more exciting than ever as they are now in the position to cherry pick the very best collections from the international designer beachwear brands including Seafolly, Baku and Ginja.
