First Christian Dior couture show sans John Galliano

Haute Couture is only a few weeks away in Paris and even though the main topic is guaranteed to be the first Christian Dior couture show sans John Galliano since 1997, there are also congratulations in order for Giambattista Valli being invited as this season’s guest of Monsieur to his first couture show.

Valli was elected by the Chambre syndicale de la Haute Couture, a rather tongue twister of a name, which is a supervisory board and is ready to present his collection at the Galerie de la Madeleine in July which is home to a new store of his.

The Italian was most recently seen on the Met gala red carpet at the side of model Doutzen Kroes is the perfect couture choice. He has gained a loyal jet-setting and celeb following since he first presented a collection of his own label in 2005 which are perfect for partying and romantic all in one. With private couture and bridal orders a big part of his business it is only natural the designer will now present an entire couture line.
