Rihanna signed up for a yet another gig to kick of the New Year as the face of Balmain. The French fashion label will happily sport the 25 year old singer as its faceplate staring in January in a new advertising campaign.
Olivier Rousteing, the creative director for Balmain, stated that when Rihanna gets in front of the camera and smiles she makes anyone that is looking at her feel like they are the only person in the world. Therefore, she is an inspiration to the millions that watch her everyday as she performs or models. Rousteing went on to say that watching somebody so inspirational wear the fashions of Balmain brings a completeness their vision.
The new advertising campaign will be mostly featured in magazines around the world, but since Rihanna’s popularity is internationally spread this should not be a problem at all. The shots for the fashion label were taken in New York City and feature Rihanna in two different outfits for the brand.
In the first photo the hit maker most recently for ‘Stay’ is sitting propped up against a black and white block square. She is wearing a cute dogtooth baby pink coat with the sleeves rolled up just a bit to add some attitude to the simple coat. The outfit features gold accessories because Rihanna is always dressed with a bit of bling.
The second photo gleams of even more attitude as the celebrity singer is dressed in denim trousers that come up high on her waist paired with a short denim top. A few chunky gold chains overlap over her clothes and her choppy bob purposely covers up one of her eyes. Mel Ottenberg did the styling for both shots, but as Rihanna’s personal stylist she easily recognises Rihanna’s taste and it was clearly represented in both shots.
