Top designers to swap catwalk for high street stores

A group of well known designers are about to take their designs off the catwalk and into their first ever flagship stores in London. Mayfair seems to be the lucky spot as Roksanda Ilincic, Victoria Beckham, and Christopher Kane are all working on opening their first shops in the area.

Beckham is said to be negotiating to open a shop up on Dover Street. The designer’s newest line has been welcomed by many as her label continues to branch out from celebrities to the world of high end fashion and she is supposedly even expanding her headquarters because she needs more staff. Apparently she has been looking for a shop spot in London for the last several months and wants to be part of the Dover Street Market area.

Ilinic who has become a favored designer at London Fashion Week has just completed a deal to open her flagship shop on Mount Street. The area is already home to many of the top luxury brands and design houses so it would be a great place for her to reach out to the public. Her neighbors on the street include Christian Louboutin, Marc Jacobs, and Lanvin.

Kane has not yet chosen a final location for his store but he has said that he also wants to be in the Central London area. He would like to have a spot on Bond Street which is considered to be a prime area with many nearby streets quickly being snatched up by budding designers.

Property agent Anthony Selwyn of Savills stated that there are many areas in Mayfair that are quickly becoming top fashion spots such as Bond, Conduit, Dover, and more due to the fact that younger designers seem to love it. They expect that even more luxury retailers will continue to build up the area.
